- Captain Birch sits down with the party after they clear the first cavern room of giant centipedes, and shows them how to create consumables from materials they can find about them.
- The party moves into the next room, scouting out the dangers ahead., and find more...much larger swarms of centipedes and a centipede the size of a full-grown man. The party is poisoned and battered, but ultimately cuts down the last of the foul creatures.
- Li and Danny scout the next room, and find themselves surrounded by more of the man-sized centipedes and a large centipede on the ceiling, hiding amongst the eggs of its brood.
- Li and Summer both fall to the centipedes, but ultimately they bounce back and the party prevails.
- The Captain is notably quiet during these encounters. Li tries to see what he's thinking. The Captain seems somewhat shocked, simply saying that he wasn't expecting this. The centipedes don't naturally grow this large...
